✅ STEP 1: ZERO Calibration to 0 ppm using Fresh Air.
- Power on the gas detector in clean, fresh air and allow at least 2 minutes for the sensor reading to stabilize.
- Double-press the middle button to enter the menu, then continue pressing to scroll until the scale icon ⚖️ appears.
- Long-press the middle button to select it.
- The scale icon ⚖️ flashes during a 10-second countdown while zero calibration is performed.
- SUCC appears when calibration is complete.
- Press the middle button to return to the main display screen. The unit now reads 0 ppm in fresh air.
✅ STEP 2: SPAN Calibration.
- Complete a fresh air zero calibration first. Span calibration is not valid without it.
- Double-press the middle button to enter the menu, then continue pressing to scroll until the gas bottle icon appears.
- Long-press the middle button to select it. The icon flashes to indicate calibration mode is active.
- Fit the calibration cap and apply 200 ppm carbon monoxide calibration gas at 0.5 LPM flow rate. Allow 2 minutes, or until the A/D signal value stabilizes.
- Long-press the middle button to confirm the calibration.
- SUCC appears when calibration succeeds. FAIL appears if it does not.
- Shut off the gas flow, remove the calibration cap, and allow the sensor to return to baseline in fresh air. The detector is now span-calibrated and returns to the main display screen.
✅ STEP 3: Verification
- Allow the gas detector to stabilize in fresh air for 5 minutes, confirming it reads 0 ppm in fresh air.
- Expose the analyzer to the calibration reference gas to verify the calibration and detection repeatability.
- If the gas detector reading is within +/- 2% F.S. of the calibration gas value, this is considered a PASS. For example, FD-101-CO has a full scale of 1000 ppm. The unit was calibrated to a reference gas of 200 ppm. Then, the PASS range is +/-2% of 1000 ppm = +/-20 ppm. Therefore, a PASS is between 180 ppm and 220 ppm.
- Once verified, your unit is properly calibrated and ready for operation.
- Don't forget to document the calibration event in your gas analyzer log book. Place a reminder calibration date sticker on the unit for the next calibration event.

- For the oxygen model, no need to complete a fresh air zero calibration first. Just proceed straight to a 20.9% span calibration.
- Double-press the middle button to enter the menu, then continue pressing to scroll until the gas bottle icon appears.
- Long-press the middle button to select it. The icon flashes to indicate calibration mode is active.
- Allow 1 minute, or until the A/D signal value stabilizes.
- Long-press the middle button to confirm the calibration.
- SUCC appears when calibration succeeds and then reads 20.9%. FAIL appears if it does not.
- The detector is now span-calibrated and returns to the main display screen.
✅ STEP 2: Verification
- Allow the oxygen detector to stabilize in fresh air for 2 minutes, confirming it reads 20.9%.
- Once verified, your unit is properly calibrated and ready for operation.
- Don't forget to document the calibration event in your gas detector logbook. Place a reminder calibration date sticker on the unit for the next calibration event.
